Auto XS Car Seat Cover Installation

All our seat covers are made to be as universal as possible in order to fit most vehicles. However, some vehicles have specific features that may affect how a cover is installed. This article provides general guidelines for how a cover should be installed in the vehicle. It is not intended to be a complete guide to all seat cover installations. For complete guidance, please see the seat cover installation videos in our help section.

Power Controls (seat direction) – The controls that move the seat backward and forward are commonly located on the Plastic Molding on the bottom section of the seat. To avoid having the straps of the seat cover get tangled in them, we recommend you tuck the straps into the gap between the seat bottom cushion and the plastic molding. Alternatively, you can use a tool to create an opening in the top layer of the seat cover for the controls. This will not void your warranty but it will change how the cover fits the seat and will require you to reinstall the cover when the time comes to replace the seat.

Armrests – The armrests attach to the side of the seat backrest and are usually on the same side as the door. Most front seats do not have armrests, if yours do have them, the openings for them are located on the underside of the back rest portion of the cover along one side. These openings should be opened to allow the straps to go through, then closed and the armrests can be attached to the vehicle.

Seat Back Post Openings – The openings that connect to the seat backpost on the underside of the cover are often missed when installing the covers. It is recommended that the cover be installed with these open to ensure proper operation of the seat side airbag in case it deploys during an accident.
